“VITA: Vitality, Identity, Transformation, and Association, Paving New Paths for Transformation”

The term VITA, which means “life” in Latin, emphasizes the dream to transform lives by living with the Lasallian values and mission.

This theme is also drawn from the theme of the 46th General Chapter and is a response to the call to continue to dream and “challenge us to build new and difficult roads with determination and enthusiasm” (Lasallian Reflection 7, p. 28).

I. Vitality of Lasallian Educational Mission

Our Lasallian educational mission should remain relevant and significant as we face the challenges of changing trends and innovations in education. We are confronted with the questions on how can the Lasallian educational mission in the Philippines remain significant and effective in serving the most vulnerable. Along with this, we need to respond to the needs of those living in poverty and focus on justice and care for creation.

II. Lasallian Identity and Mission

As we encounter new ways of doing our mission, Lasallian educational communities should remain true to their Lasallian identity, spirituality, and culture. We need to respond to the call on how we can be true to our Lasallian identity and mission at the same time transform our ways in the new normal. We are asked to identify what are our “non-negotiables” in living our Lasallian spirituality and Filipino values.

III. Transformation of Lasallian Communities

There is a greater call for the Philippine Lasallian family to be agents of transformation of the Church and society to effectively serve the last, the lost, and the least. The Philippine Lasallian communities go beyond the school’s ability to adapt to the current trends in education. These communities, in general, are spaces for ongoing change, growth, development, and transformation to reach the full potential that learning can offer.

IV. Lasallian Association for the Mission

Lasallian Brothers and Partners are called to collaboratively and creatively work together to deepen their sense of commitment and association to the mission. The mission is not a result of one human group that plans its work but of a community that belongs to God and his people at a determined historical and social time which they interpret as a call to fidelity and community commitment through association.
