Ms. Nelca Villarin
Nelca Leila Balisado Villarin led truth, justice, and peace initiatives in 16 La Salle schools as the National Director of the Lasallian Justice and Peace Commission (LJPC) of De La Salle Philippines from 2005 to 2010. During this period, she facilitated local and international workshops and conferences on advocacies and apostolates for the poor held in different schools.

Nelca Leila Balisado Villarin led truth, justice, and peace initiatives in 16 La Salle schools as the National Director of the Lasallian Justice and Peace Commission (LJPC) of De La Salle Philippines from 2005 to 2010. During this period, she facilitated local and international workshops and conferences on advocacies and apostolates for the poor held in different schools.

Nelca played a crucial role in the implementation of Sulong Aral, a One La Salle Yolanda Rehabilitation and Recovery Project in Tubabao Island, Guiuan, Eastern Samar. The Sulong Aral project covered the construction of classrooms, disaster preparedness, mitigation, and educational enhancement initiatives.

As a school administrator in different La Salle schools, Nelca managed and directed social action and volunteer programs, international student services, and student formation and involvement.

As a professional, she is active in the ASEAN University Network – Student Affairs Network, Asia-Pacific Student Services Association (APSSA), and serves as officer in the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) NCR – Student Affairs Committee, as well as in the South Manila Educational Consortium – Student Affairs Committee.

Nelca is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts in Community Development Economics and Bachelor of Science in Business Management. She has an MBA and completed courses in leadership, mentoring as a transformative learning experience, and training evaluation from the Philippine Society for Talent Development. She was also trained as Climate Leader of The Climate Reality Project (TCRP) of the former US Vice President Al Gore in San Francisco, California in 2012. 

Nelca was a member of De La Salle Philippines Lasallian Partners Council, the advisory council to the President from 2015 to 2019.  She served as De La Salle University’s Director of the Office of Student LIFE, and currently serves as Dean of Student Affairs.

She is a devoted wife to Pablo A. Villarin Jr. and a loving mother to Nicolai Paolo and Mateo Paolo.  She hails from Bacolod, Negros Occidental, but has now settled in Las Pinas City, Metro Manila.
