Mr. Jose Ritche Bongcaron
I have been a member of the Lasallian Family, as part of De La Salle University – Dasmariñas (DLSU-D), since 1999. In DLSU-D, I am a faculty, but aside from teaching as my main ministry, I also do administrative work, am involved in formation programs and the promotion of Vocations, including the Brothers’ Vocation!
I Help Create Possibilities. I am La Salle.
My Lasallian journey began when I decided to “embrace the Lasallian mission” as I have not been a graduate of any Lasallian school nor have I been a product of any Lasallian formation prior to my joining the Lasallian Family. I love to call my Lasallian journey as becoming a “Lasallian by choice!”
I have been a part of the Lasallian Partners’ Council since 2015.
The work of accompaniment has been so far the most enriching and inspiring experience that I’ve been involved in with much joy and find fulfilling as a Lasallian partner. It has given me the opportunity to appreciate and respect the different stories of my fellow Lasallians whose roles individually and collectively are essential to making the Lasallian educational experience worthwhile and meaningful for our young people.
As a Lasallian Partner, the challenge for the Mission today is how to stay firm and to sustain the conviction in asserting that education remains to be a beacon for the truth, and a space and experience that upholds life and the environment.
So related to this, it is my hope that as part of a worldwide family that has at its disposal education as a powerful vehicle to effect positive and sustainable change in society and the Church, Lasallians would remain relevant and responsive in its effort to accompany young people whose form of poverty in this day and age (and more so in the future) may not just be any more about material poverty but one that is, and will essentially alienate them from God and His promise of salvation for all.
I am Jose Ritche Bongcaron. As a formator and accompanier, I Help Create Possibilities. I am La Salle!
